How to bounce back from failure

Today we’re going to be looking at how you can bounce back from failure.

 

 

We’re all terrified of failing, and that’s okay. Right? It comes with the territory every single time that we step into the unknown. But it’s also essential for you to remember that failure is part of life.
 
Think about it, as a baby, when you started walking, you failed over and over again. You stood up and fell back down again, and you didn’t let that stop you. Or think about when you were learning to ride your bike when you were little. How many times did you fall off? And then, when we started eating we couldn’t find our mouths. We would keep picking up the food and dropping it in our laps. Eventually, we did succeed, but the only way we got there was because we kept going and kept trying and eventually we figured it out.
 
Failure is something that you’ll have to accept will happen in your business and career. You will most likely at some point land in the wrong job, I did!  And in business, you are sometimes going to try things that are not going to go as planned and you’ll fail.
 
The important thing to overcome is to stop the fear of failure from keeping us back. Right? You want to get clear on what you’re afraid of and then work with that fear to help you move forward.

The bigger question is: Once you’ve failed, how do you bounce back?
  1. You want to make sure that you forgive yourself. Women have a tendency to beat ourselves up and have negative chatter going on in our heads, and that doesn’t help the situation. If anything it is preventing you from moving on and succeeding in future because you keep pushing yourself down with the mean voice in your head.
  2. You really want to assess the situation, and then you want to ask yourself, “Okay, what exactly is it that went wrong and how can I make this better in future?”
  3. Lastly, you want to make those adjustments and improvements, and then get right back at it and try again.

As Michael Jordan says,

“I have failed over and over and over again and that is how I succeed.”

You can overcome any failure.

Be positive every day!

Today I’ll reveal my favorite trick for staying positive!

If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that I’m slightly obsessed with keeping people as positive as possible. Why is that? That is because I know that my clients who tend to succeed and go far in their business and get into the careers that they want to have are the people who can stay in a positive frame of mind as often as possible.

A lot of times in my Savvy Success Masterminds, The Ultimate Career Bootcamp, or with my private clients, we spend a lot of time on the topic of getting in the right mindset.
My favorite tip lately for keeping you positive, or even myself positive, is to write down all of my wins every single day. I have a big dream board. Some of you who did the Effective Goal Setting course will know what that dream board looks like. Or if you follow me on Instagram, you also would’ve seen my dream board.

On the one section of my dream board I have goals, and I also have wins written down. Every single time that something positive happens, that is growing my business, or I get something, even as a gift sometimes, I’ll write it down as a win. It’s changed my attitude, and it’s shifted my perspective and my focus, to the things that went right in my day.

That keeps me positive to keep going and achieving what it is that I want to achieve. I’ve also seen this work for my clients. The more you can shift your focus, and your energy, to the things that are going right in your day, or in your life, the easier it is for you to stay engaged, positive and focused on achieving your goals.

The minute you allow yourself to start to look at all the negative stuff, which, let’s face it, negative things happens too … That’s when you completely start to lose focus, and that’s normally where I see my clients start to stumble and get off track.

If you have a couple of hefty goals that you’re currently working towards, I strongly recommend that you adapt this little trick. It will help you to shift your focus, get more positive, and stay motivated so that you can live to your fullest potential. Also check out my blog post “The one easy thing all successful people do.”
