{Podcast} Savvy Business Show #43: How community fuels business growth

On today’s Savvy Business Show I talk with Jaclyn Zukerman of Next on Scene. After moving to a new city with a T.V. gig and no office job she had to find a way to connect.

Jaclyn started network before she had a business. She had the opportunity to connect with someone who gave her an opportunity that she couldn’t pass, thus starting her business. Sometimes you have to do the work for it to happen.

Jacklyn suggests that investing in your business is when you start to meet more people that actually want to pay for your services. You can join a mastermind or a networking group. Be open to messaging and building a relationship with someone on social media.

In this episode you’ll hear:

{Podcast} Savvy Business Show #42: Doing big massive things

Are you busy doing big things? Ever think things like…”what if no one buys this”, “what if no one shows up” or “what if too many people show up”? You are not alone. We are scared.

Today on the Savvy Business Show we are talking about how these feelings are NORMAL and how a community can help you navigate through.

Your fear is okay it means you are expanding. You’re not wrong, so let yourself feel the feelings.

How do you navigate the feelings?

Own your fear and taking massive action. You have a choice you can let your fear stop you from taking action or you can work and overcome it.

A few techniques to try to help calm you when you are feeling the overwhelm.

  • Take a deep breath: Inhale 4 seconds, Hold 4 seconds, Exhale 4 seconds
  • EFT/Tapping: I deeply and completely love and accept myself

You can’t do it alone. Find a community of support outside your family and friends that will encourage and support you in your business. Find a mastermind that is a good fit for you.

A mastermind group is a peer-to-peer mentoring concept used to help members solve their problems with input and advice from the other group members.

{Podcast} Savvy Business Show #41: Setting your business up so you can take a break

I’m so happy you are back today we are going to be talking with Liz Theresa of LizTheresa.com about how you can set up your business when you are away.

During this time of year, we have many social commitments, and most of us want to be able to step away from our businesses to enjoy the beautiful weather (not to mention a well-deserved break.)

Unfortunately, I speak to way too many business owners who are afraid to take time off, fearing that things will come tumbling down when they are not there to hold it all up. And I call BS on this! When running a business you want to make sure that you set your business up to be the vehicle that can support your lifestyle. AKA – you have to stop treating your business like it’s your baby (remember Episode Episode 34!? Why your business is not your baby? Be sure to have a listen here if you missed it.)

I have a specific process to ensure that I can take time off while things continue to run without me. And in today’s episode, I decided to also invite my good friend Liz Theresa, who’s about to have a baby and thus had no choice but to set her business up to run without her while she’s out on maternity leave.

We start by diving into how to set up your website for success. This includes tips on hiring a developer, not just a designer. Then making sure you are organizing our site in a way that makes sense to your prospective clients.

“Clarity over cleverness”

Marie Forleo

Next, we are jumping into setting up your business so you can take time away. If you don’t already start with an operations manual. You’ve got to have systems and resources in place so other people can help you. Ask for help and invest in people to help you.

A little advice…

JUST START!

Listen Now:

In this episode you’ll hear:

  • Setting up your website for success
  • Prep your business so you can step away
  • Strategies on how to set up your business so you can take a break

About Liz:

Liz Theresa, business mentor and founder of LizTheresa.com, has been helping entrepreneurs find clarity and uniquely market themselves with confidence for the past 7 years through her strategic website design and clever copywriting services. She wants every entrepreneur to rise and be the star of their own business. She’s also the creator of Concept to Creation™, her flagship branding and web design program and you can download a free copywriting training video from her at freecopyvideo.com.
