How often do you shy away from doing something because it just seems too big to accomplish and you don’t know where to start?
I often find the main thing that holds most of my clients back is the sensation of feeling overwhelmed. They have a big plan they’d like to execute, and the massiveness of the task at hand keeps them from getting started. Then they feel stuck. (And let’s face it, we’ve all been there before.)
In those particular sessions, we work on breaking things down into smaller, more manageable steps.
- Write down exactly what it is you’d like to accomplish. Be as clear as you can.
- Take note of everything that needs to be done to accomplish your goal. Don’t think in any particular order; just begin by getting it all out. Then prioritize your list.
- Start immediately. Once you have the first step down, build momentum by beginning straight away. Don’t worry too much if some of the stuff on your list is not 100 percent clear or organized yet. Solutions and new opportunities will present themselves as you go along.
Remember: Indecision is a decision. It’s the decision not to take action, and the longer you wait in limbo, the more time you waste in achieving your goal.
