I was recently having coffee with someone and she said she would never join a mastermind because she was afraid that the other people would know she had problems in her business.
WOAH stop right there…
Today, I’m busting 4 myths about mastermind you don’t want to miss.
Myth #1: Sharing Only Business Problems
When looking for a mastermind find one that has you sign NDA (non-disclosure agreement) and Confidentiality agreement. This allows you to feel safe within a community and trusted space you can share open and freely. Ask questions about the community to make sure it’s a group you feel comfortable with sharing within.
Of course, problems are things that come up in calls but its also a place to be a part of a community, talk marketing, and management ideas, build referrals, gain business resources and most importantly hare your wins!!
Myth #2: Focuses On Your Industry
When you surround yourself with people who only in your industry or do exactly what you do and think about things your way. You are standing in the way of innovation.
If you find a group that has people from various industries you’ll give the group a more dynamic and robust experience. Forcing you to be challenged and think in different ways with new perspectives.
Myth #3: They Must Be at the Same Stage of Business as You
Don’t focus on the income so much as what you want to get out of the group. You will get out what you put in. What can the group bring to help you and you to help them? Choose one that you will find value in.
Myth #4: Only Way To Grow Your Business
There are so many other ways you can work on growing your business, such as a coach. It will depend on how you learn, what you need, and what works best for you!
If you’re not a group person and you don’t learn well in group settings, private coaching may be better for you. But if you are craving business friends and community, masterminds may be your thing.
It’s important for you to know what you want and need to help get you there.
Know that you don’t have to go at this alone. You can get all the support you need. BUT you have to ask!
